Getting started

For creators who post carousels on Instagram or LinkedIn and already use an AI assistant on their computer. No coding required.

1 — Install Casper

Casper is a desktop app — the only way to run your own carousels, connect your folder, and export.

1. Go to the Casper home page or pick your platform: macOS · Windows.
2. Download the installer for your system and open Casper like any other app.

There is no separate browser app or npm install for production use.

2 — Open your folder

The first time Casper opens, choose Open workspace… in the sidebar and pick a folder on your computer. That folder is where your carousels and your assistant will read and write the same files.

Open the same folder in your assistant (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT, etc.).

3 — Describe your post

In your assistant chat, describe the carousel like you would brief a designer:

Instagram carousel about our product launch — 7 screens, direct tone,
strong hook on the first slide, CTA to the waitlist on the last.

For a new deck, start with /create-slide — or /casper-help in agent chat if you are not sure which command fits. See Commands for the full list and more examples in Brief your assistant.

The in-app Guide (sidebar) has copy-paste blocks that stay in sync with your Casper version.

4 — Review in Casper

Walk every screen before you export:

1. Slides — open the deck; preview each page in 4:5.
2. Production — move the deck through draft → in review → ready.
3. Review and refine — tweak copy on the canvas or leave comments for your assistant, then run /apply-comments. For larger edits without comments, use /edit-slide in chat.

5 — Export and post

Open the deck → Export in the toolbar → PNG or PDF per screen. Upload to Instagram or LinkedIn in order. Casper does not auto-post.
